Q  Will customers be notified when an update is available?

To receive notifications, you can sign up for our newsletter located on our home page or register when you purchase an update.

Q  Who do I contact when I have issues with my navigation system?

We specialize in digital maps for your vehicle. For any software issues related to map functions (roads, points of interest, route calculating, etc) please call our Call Center at 1-888-757-0010 (US/Canada) available 6AM-5PM PST Monday through Friday, 6AM-12PM PST Saturday. For all other inquiries (Bluetooth, audio, SirusXM, etc) including hardware, please call KIA Customer Support at 1-(877) 542-2886 available Mon - Fri 8:30 am - 5:30 pm EST.

Q  How often is the map updated?

We offer map updates once a year for older models. Newer models that store their data on SD cards have updates that are released twice a year.

Q  How can I find out which map version I have?

You can your version by pressing System Info. button on the navigation setup menu. The map version number appears on the screen with the version of current software version. Different car models display different versions. To check if you have the latest version, click on 'Map Update' tab and check if your vehicle's map version matches the latest version.

Q  When I do a Map Update, do I also get a software update too?

Yes your update will include improvement to the software as well, but the level of change depends on the model. Check out your model under the tab 'Map Update' to see the changes.

Q  I want to update because a road or point of interest is missing. How do I know if the update will include this missing area?

To see if the missing area has been updated, click on 'Map Error Reporter' tab and check the map. Since this map is the updated frequently, sometimes the missing information will appear on this map page, but might not have been added in time for the newest map update release. Please call our call center to confirm at 1-888-757-0010.

Q  Can I use the navigation system software in my computer?

No. The navigation system software is designed only for use in your KIA navigation system.

Q  Is there a reason why I should update my map and/ or software?

Each year, the map database is updated with new subdivisions, improved rural maps and other roadway changes. Points of Interest like stores and restaurants are updated as well. Occasionally new features are added to the navigation system software.

Q  Can my navigation system provide coverage for US, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico?

Coverage for Mexico is not provided by our digital map but US, Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada are included in the navigation system's map data base. Puerto Rico is available for certain models. Please call our call center at 1-888-757-0010 to confirm if Puerto Rico is included in your update.

Q  Can you guarantee that a certain road, highway, or point of interest has been added to the latest map update?

Answer: The map data and points of interest (POI) are provided from our data source provider We purchase the data, compile it in the format the radio manufacturer requires, they build the update, then we test it before it is released. Our updates come out about 6 months after we purchase the raw data. This means there is less than a 2% chance that a new road is missing from the update that is currently on their website. That 2% would mean that the road was added after we already purchased the data. The accuracy of POIs are also dependent on reported data from HERE, but they are constantly being revised. We can always check before you purchase the update to make sure a new road or point of interest is included. Also, a brand new road or POI may take as few as 6 months to show up on one of our map updates. Please contact our Call Center with any questions at 1-888-757-0010.

Q  Privacy Policy understands our customers' concerns regarding the privacy of the information they share with us. We hold our customers, and the information they share with us, in the highest regard. Maintaining your privacy is critical to us. We will not sell, share, or rent your information to others in any ways different from those disclosed in this statement.

 Return / Replacement

Q   What is your return/exchange policy?

Products can be returned within 30 days of receiving item if unopened. Products that have been opened cannot be returned unless defective. Defective items or items damaged by courier during transit for delivery can only be exchanged for same the item.


Q   Where can your Call Center ship to?

We can ship to any address in the U.S. and Canada deliverable by FedEx. Before placing your order, you will see both the shipping method and cost. Shipping method and cost will also show in the Order Review and Order Confirmation e-mail.

Q  What shipping options do you offer?

U.S. orders with a street address will ship via FedEx Smartpost, Express (2-3 days), or Overnight for US orders. All Canadian orders will ship via FedEx International Services.

Q  Can I get a status of my order?

Q   When using my navigation system, why aren't all roads named?

Most roads are named in metropolitan areas . Occasional errors may result from name changes, street closures or the addition of new roads that have not yet been included in the database.

Q   How can I find out what cities or areas are covered by my navigation system?

Q  Where can I find my Device ID?

For KIA models the customer can find the Device ID number by pressing "SETUP" button, then the "System Info" button on the navigation system.

Q  There is no Device ID under my System Info.

ID can be located after updating the navigation system using the map update kit. After the map update has been preformed the customer can find the Device ID number by pressing "SETUP" button, then the "System Info" button on the navigation system.

 Update Purchase and Order

Q  Can I obtain a map update from my dealer?

Yes. You can go to to search for your local dealer to schedule an appointment or call the toll-free number at (800) 333-4542 , 5 a.m. - 6 p.m. PST Monday through Friday.

Q   How much will it cost?

As each map update may differ in pricing please check our website on pricing information.

Q   Do you accept COD(check on demand) to purchase an update?

No. We only accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover.

Q   Can I order more than one map update kit?

Currently the customer can purchase one map update per order. However if the customer owns more than one KIA vehicle and would like to purchase more than one map update kit, please contact the MnSOFT Call Center at (888) 757-0010 Mon - Fri 6:00 am - 5:00 pm PST Sat, 6:00 am -12:00 pm PST or simply order another map update in a separate order.
